Unique happiness

Hey pals..little time off, so here is a short story.I am patrick; all of 22, I had a choice between heavy pay package or a profession which could change me as a person or might help me to understand what patriotism means..Similar to Westpoint US, I also went to a place which moulded a boy to a man, instilled an attitude to " never quit, never give up and never say die". Little i knew that, as i took the "road not taken" may be a route less travelled by;there were challenges beyond my age and wisdom.Never the less, the training imparted was enough to let me know that; come what may :

The safety, honour and welfare of your country comes first, always and every time.
The honour, welfare and comfort of the men you command come next.
Your own ease, comfort and safety come last, always and every time

In the midst of this tough route I realized no matter what your tasks are; how small or big they are, somewhere down the line you have to make a choice, a choice that involved sacrifices at every step.Maybe now i started to believe that since you dawn the uniform you are labeled as a person who can take bullets and not complain of pain,as you serve in difficult places your friends tend to forget you from their grey cells, your distant relatives faintly remember your face or last time when you met them, your lovable girlfriend might find it tough to cope up with your risks so she logically parts way,the latest happenings in the world are alien to you because so much is happening with you in your world that the real world tends to drift away. When i faced bullets, i realized that what it means to make a call to your mom n dad and let them know you are all fine.Maybe in college days lot of us had guts to say no to food and go to fancy restaurants and have food, now i knew what hunger meant for 2 days on the trot, nothing was for granted, may be not even oxygen as temperatures were close to -45.I had started to learn the life in a harder way.The human emotions, relations, life; all were now seen in a different perspective. We all get life once, I chose to live the way i wanted to,I am not complaining about anything or what could have been better,i think this road is awesome and at every step I realize i am becoming a better person. When your men are ready to give up their life on your one command, you realize leadership starts from day one, age does not matter.Always remember that its only you as an individual who has the power to write your destiny, and i firmly believe the famous line "make sure of your hard work, because at the end of the day, juice SHOULD be WORTH the squeeze".
I am unknown to many, but many out there live my way of life, I am a commoner,a regular guy who thinks "a soldier never quits until he dies, and those who do try; eventually reach the zenith". Live  life to the fullest and do everything you wanted, never regret your own decisions, stand by it and LIVE by it, you would realize happiness is just out there you need to take a step and grab it with open arms.
