A Train which took the blessings!!

Hiiiii pals my name is alfred and I am a driver of a vehicle which   is used in areas where almost every moment   there is a possibility of a bullet hitting you. Yes it’s a "no man’s land” zone or you can say a zone where no one is right or wrong or may be everyone is wrong but the fact is that, as the job is demanding so are the risks involved with it. My wife is new to this culture and she is scared whether I would make it to home this time when I get leave. Ah! the problem is leave is not guaranteed or it is not a right but a privilege, my boss says so..:(:( I really wanted to go home but my boss is equally in a very difficult situation, though nice at heart; and it is not his fault that he is not able to give me leave. Irony is that, he has some important work at home and he has requested me to hold my leave until he is back. As the new boss is new to location and due to my exposure I know the critical routes which would be important for lot of tasks in his absence. I ...

Value of a green chillie

Hii pals I am back, my name is Jonathan and I was at 18000 ft and it’s a short story about a small incidence which I consider myself as lucky to witness as a young lad , all of 23 years old. So here it is- It was a month where snow was falling non stop; we all were in a post which was at 18000 ft and away from the world . The closest region was of enemy and of course we were not friendly with them..:).It was 6 months on the trot and we had not seen fresh vegetables and fresh food , it was tinned food and added preservatives. The oxygen was so less that you could hardly relish what you ate, the irony was such that snow had to be melted to get water and folks, water had to be taken deliberately so as to get oxygen molecules; trust me who have tasted snow water can agree with me it is very bad in taste. Nevertheless   we held our ground bravely. One fine moment my sergeant came up to me and said “ Sir take this 100 dollars and please get me one green chilies , I have not tasted sp...

Long distance I have to cover In the midst of every danger I am a warrior, give me energy I do not need money but only medicinal honey Oxygen is rare & cold is very difficult to bear Still I have to go on and a ray of hope which keeps me moving Please give me courage & conviction to move through this snow Perhaps speed can be slow, but with my numb toe I still am a warrior , need to Go !!

story of a brave dog

Image
bravado!!! hey pals sit back and read this story carefully!! It was a very cold winter morning. Temperature close to -40 degree, visibility near to zero. Wind was blowing at a velocity of 120 km/hr. At 1800ft you definitely see life at a different angle. Life and danger are two sides of same coin.On one of the such moment men staying in igloo  wanted to hear cricket commentary as world cup was around the corner. There was no way this wish could have been met. Radio was old fashioned but Tv could not function there either.Only wireless radio sets were there to communicate. This is the time when you realize how important radio was, as an invention to mankind..:) One ray of hope was in the form of an extra radio which was at a different cliff. This cliff  was separated by avalanche prone valley; for humans, it was impossible to even step out & think of negotiating this stretch. But for 4 months men had not seen life, they were totally cut off from world and boredom w...

BOXING MATCH !!!

hey pals !! my name is christopher, I am a lovable person and in my young days I was never involved in fist fights. The irony was such that, I had group of friends who never had gang fights..:(:( Little I knew that once I would grow up, I would have to go to a training institute where there would be no-voices boxing. It was a tournament in which come what may every one would have to fight a bout according to their weight category. This sent me shivers; and i was so hopeful that being ultra light in terms of weight, may be I would not qualify to fight under any weight category..:):) It was hot summer afternoon, I was having my lunch in the dining hall, and one of my pal came up to me and said "all the best christopher, you are fighting first, today evening, against some boxer named Noorie. I am sure brother, you would punch him to death" !!!. Of course, I had no clue who the hell Noorie was, but much later after my bout, I came to know Noorie was a professional boxe...

Unique happiness

Hey pals..little time off, so here is a short story.I am patrick; all of 22, I had a choice between heavy pay package or a profession which could change me as a person or might help me to understand what patriotism means..Similar to Westpoint US, I also went to a place which moulded a boy to a man, instilled an attitude to " never quit, never give up and never say die". Little i knew that, as i took the "road not taken" may be a route less travelled by;there were challenges beyond my age and wisdom.Never the less, the training imparted was enough to let me know that; come what may : The safety, honour and welfare of your country comes first, always and every time. The honour, welfare and comfort of the men you command come next. Your own ease, comfort and safety come last, always and every time In the midst of this tough route I realized no matter what your tasks are; how small or big they are, somewhere down the line you have to make a choice, a choice tha...
